You Know You’re a Mother When…

Dee & George with Kids

You know you’re a mother when….

1. You catch yourself cutting up the meat on the plate of a person next to you at a dinner party.

2. You throw Cheerios to your toddlers from your bed so they can eat as you nauseously clutch a wastebasket to your chest.

3. You absentmindedly jiggle a grocery bag up and down in your arms as you talk to a friend in the store parking lot.

4. You dash out of the house to run an errand and realize you’ve still got your apron on and baby food stains on the front of it.

5. You pay your children to give you “hairdos” and don’t care what you end up looking like because it gives you a chance to shut your eyes for 5-10 minutes.

6. You think your children are precocious, gifted, and destined to do great things in their lifetime. You don’t hesitate to point this out to others.

These are just a few that I’ve come up with from my own experiences as a mother. I’m sure you can come up with some of your own as we head into this Mother’s Day weekend.
